H-calibration samples

For calibration of glow discharge spectrometers

For calibration of H-analyzers

For fundamental investigations of the H effect

Since many years there is a lack of suitable massive solid calibration samples for the element H. The IFW was successful in sintering 8 different mixtures of Cu und TiH2 under vacuum and inert gas, which results in vacuum tight massive samples, useable like normal standard samples. E.g. also grinding is possible. Constant intensity ratios are generally achieved within 3 minutes pre-sputtering.

The H concentration was determined by carrier gas hot extraction with an accuracy of 5%. At the moment samples with 20 mm diameter and 5 mm height can be produced within the concentration range of 0.13 und 1.5 m%. These new H calibration samples are at the moment deliverable with 0.1 m%, 1.0 m% und 1.5 m% H. Further concentrations and sample shapes, e.g. pin type geometry, can be discussed.
